Default 36 or 40 mm flat slide carb?

On my 35 ci vanny I ordered an adaptor to install a Mikuni Carb on it I am looking at the TM 36-68 or the tm 40-6 carb. I wish they had a 38mm the choice would be simple then. By the way these are the carbs with accelerator pumps in them.
I have done a search but only see small blocks twin set up not interested in that just need one carb.
Looking for better hole shot and try and keep the upper rpms happy motor swings 62-6300 rpm topped out.

Why not do a stock 2-barrel swap? Each side is fed with ~21mm.

I want a better hole shot out of it is the reason for the pumper style carb. I just do not want to kill top end in the process. I also believe there has to be a better carb than what briggs put on these motors out there.
And lets not forget I need a leg up on bloke come caw time.

I have a hard time believing you will be able to run with "bloke".
The stock Briggs 2-barrels are really good carbs. You just have to know how to set them up, just like any other. Did you see the video of Boke's motor jumping off the ground?
