No continuity between s1 and s2 on old ge motor
I have an 89 cushman titan with a 36v ge motor. It quit working so I've been working thru troubleshooting ideas on this site. Finally got to the motor. Had continuity between s1 and s2, and a1 and a2. No shorts. So I tested it as suggested here by jumping a2 to s1 and putting 12v power to a1 and s2. Motor spun. Reconnected to cart and it ran for a minute and stopped.
Now I don't have continuity between s1 and s2. (Retested and it's actually 8k resistance) Anything else to try or is it time to get the motor repaired? Thanks! Last edited by CampMaster; 05-11-2017 at 08:39 PM.. Reason: New info |

Re: No continuity between s1 and s2 on old ge motor
Turned out to be an intermittent connection in the motor that opened with heat. Fixed!
