Default One off 91 Cushman

I picked up a cushman with model number 898371. I thought I found a parts book on ebay for the 1919 cushman j2, the numbers on it are 898371A. but none of the parts are the same and mine has an extra coil spring and different steering and motor. Any idea what this is or if it is a prototype. I I have looked at titans and others and nothing fits

The missing controller was a 1205-101 and motor is 5BC48JB817. I am looking at a getting a SR48500/400sol/sw202/2g cable setup since I have to rewire everything.

I think it is a 0-5k peddle setup

I am also making it a 4 seat unit, as I took the inserts out of the body already

Wow, she is a beauty, Now that what you call a "Project Car". Even If you have to piece together the drive system, it seam it would be well worth the investment. Heck friend throw a big controller-motor in her. I bet you she could carry a pallet of bricks

Welcome to BGW.

There are a limited amount of Cushman vehicles on this forum but you might be able to find some more information on BGW by doing a search of "Cushman". Use the Google functions here to go back more than a year.

Find attached a Cushman model ID guide. According to this guide, your Cushman should be an "F-2, 1900 lb, 36 volt".

From what I know about these carts, it is likely a slow speed (8 mph or 12 mph max ??) and rated for a 1900 lb load capacity.

For your stated year (1991 ?), your model number (898371) should be followed by another 4 digit number. Is there a model sticker still on the card or a model number on the frame?

I hope that this helps you get started. Good luck on your build

Here is a BGW thread that you will want to check out: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...resto-mod.html

Also check out this one: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...ial-truck.html

And this one has possibly another source of manuals that you will want to check: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...ification.html

Also find attached photos of the manuals for your cart. At one point, these were available on ebay.

YES! I would give my left hand to find those books. the one I found on ebay (pic) isn't for my cart.. since I am replacing almost everything I guess this will be a 898371B.

Looking good.

You may want to turn one bank of batteries when you hook them up in order to have the shortest battery cable path and hence the lowest circuit resistance.

You might also want to read this recent thread about lessons learned with some house brand batteries: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...batteries.html
