This is not like the turn signal issue. I think we just have confusion over which wire goes where.

If you have stock wiring, or wiring that follows the stock color convention, you should have white, brown and black wires going to each light. It's tough to see the colors in your photo - they get dirty. I'm assuming the wires to the ring terminal are black, and other dark wires are in fact brown?

Of so:

Black = Negative
Brown = Taillight
White = Brake Light

I looked at my wiring (with brake lights), it's on a CarryAll so looks a little different, but you can pick out the brown:

Black (negative) on vehicle goes to white
Brown on vehicle (taillight) goes to red
White on vehicle (brake light) goes to black

My previous guess at wire colors on the lights was logical, but wrong

Hope this works.

This was the solution for getting the running lights up and going.
connected the wires per your suggestion above and the running lights
work, however, no brake lights when I depress the pedal..

When I get out there this evening I'll recheck the white connections
I only had a few minutes this AM to move the wires and check the above
wire suggestion.

Thanks for the input, now to trace down the brakes.

Update, all is well! the wires are as suggested. Contacted the vendor and they confirmed it in an email. My suggestion was to add a small piece of paper in the box indicating the wiring order to future customers...

Black (negative) on vehicle goes to white
Brown on vehicle (taillight) goes to red
White on vehicle (brake light) goes to black

Brake lights were not coming on because I had removed the key, since the grand daughter comes over now and likes to climb on the cart. With the key in it and on the brake lights work.

Still have to pick up some new screws for the lens, since the ones they supply are not long enough to reach the bezel back.

Also ordered new front bezels as one was cracked, transferred the lights and mounting hardware and it looks great.

Next step will be turn signals and maybe hook up the high beams.

Not sure oncoming cars will though LOL

I'd like to hook up a switch for High beam, that project I'll
tackle when I do the lift kit and everything is out of the way..

May get an LED strip light for a high mounted brake light, when I do the lift
kit as well.

Thanks for the help.

Question Re: LED Kit for Clubcar DS with Factory Lights

Sorry for jumping in to this thread but its been a good resource and I just wanted to continue on with a similar discussion.

The final product looks good and its something I need to do.

Looked at all of the helpful links and since I need the bezels for both sides anyway planning on putting LEDs in.

Looking at the links & doing searches, found the part numbers for the whole headlight assembly as 101988001 & 2 with some listings saying thats for DS models not Precedent because of the different fender types. The Villager I have looks like the DS types, so will these DS bezels work on that?

Also the orange turn signals on the front, any good LEDs that would work with the LED lights DaveMJ posted?

Not sure what year your Villager is but if your front cowl is a '93 or later they should fit - see STICKY to confirm.

I cannot comment on the turn signals - my carts do not have turn signals just orange reflectors. I'm sure you could find LED bulbs or LED lamps to replace the incandescents.

Its a 2010 Villager 6

Took the headlight out and here's what the wires looked like. Would the red connectors that aren't attached to anything be for a turn signal? Where the turn signal would be it looks like there's currently just a dummy plug.
