Default Tow Switch

Okay, this might sound crazy but my 2003 Club Car DS 48V does not have a tow switch. That's not the crazy part.

I'm wondering if I can install one and if so, is one product better than another?

Thanks

Joe

If your cart is a series cart it won't have a run/tow switch.

Do you have a FNR lever at your right knee or a rocker switch?

I’ve heard in lieu of the tow switch you can install a battery cut off switch like they use in classic cars to prevent battery drain.

Is this true?

EDIT: I found this example on Amazon. (Disclaimer: I have no connection to seller)

It is a series cart and correct, there is no Tow/Run Switch. I'm looking to install one. I just feel it's one more layer of safety when working on the cart.

Are you saying you want to install a toggle switch on the wire going to the hot side of the key?

disconnect a battery is the safest level of safety

Cart will go nowhere unless ignition on, F/R switch is out of Neutral and accelerator depressed. If you want to ensure there is no possibility of the cart moving when you are working on it disconnect a battery as _ogre suggested.
