EXTRA battery for radio and lights
I have a question for ya'll. I'm looking at putting an extra battery in my cart to power my radio and lights. That way I can leave the main batteries for just the motor.Could anyone recommend a good battery for this application? I'm thinking about a big trolling motor deep cycle battery. Thanks

Re: EXTRA battery for radio and lights
In my opinion the deep cycle battery is the way to go. Had this battery since '06, still going strong powering the sounds and neon lighting.

Re: EXTRA battery for radio and lights
how long does it stay charged? I have a bazooka tube and not including the standard front and rear lights.I have 14 led's and 8 small strobes. Do you think it will last for a good week only running a few hours each night when summer finally hits?

Re: EXTRA battery for radio and lights
Probably, but I usually recharge mine with a small charger every night when I charge the cart batteries.

Re: EXTRA battery for radio and lights
I have a group 24 deep cycle powering my headlights and taillights, and approximately 180 LEDs. I use mine around the campground on weekends and only charge it about every three weeks. LEDs don't use any power to speak of. The stereo will eat up most of your juice. I think you would be good for at least a full weekend. I just use a Battery Tender to charge mine. Works fine.

Re: EXTRA battery for radio and lights
put a battery tender on it (what ever battery you go with) and just plug it in when you plug in your cart.

Re: EXTRA battery for radio and lights
I used a marine deep cycle and installed a built in charger from Bass Pro. I also wired a flush mount plug under my main charger receptacle so I can just plug a cord in when I plug my main charger in.

Re: EXTRA battery for radio and lights
There is a battery store on Fuman Hall Rd. that would have both, battery and tender. I got my charger from there, not "battery tender" brand, but it works great, and was $20 with no shipping... Just a thought; noticed you are in greenville too.
