Have you found stiffer springs that fit? Have you asked Jakes for a fix?

Anyone else have suggestions if my rear is too soft when I finishing getting it assembled?

Look into the VW sites, they do sell coil over springs in various lengths. Jakes knows that their springs are not the best and I do not believe they have a fix. I have seen the coil overs on the VW sites that are close to the same length, the more the shock is closer to the outside the stiffer the ride, more to the center and softer ride. I just have not done any more searches on them, but I will be in the next couple of months.

I am guessing you have yours on the stiffest most outside setting? Did you change the pre-load on the coil-over also?

Yes have adjusted both, just wanted to give you this info before you got too far into your build.

I was looking for a site that I knew of and finally found it, these guys may be a good start for some basic questions.

Continuing build for now while I research coil overs. I may just have custom coils wound with higher spring rate at a local spring shop. Seems 2" ID coils are not as popular as 2.5" ID are. I can get replacement 2.5" springs cheap in any length and spring rate.

25x10.5-12 tires on 12x8 wheels are temporary mounted as I decide on what to do for rear brakes. The drum brakes that came with cart are completely shot. Hub, hardware, plate and all. Probably end up getting rear disc if Scotty would put them on sale again.

Battery pack is sitting in modified stock tray. Fits pretty good. Just going to make a hold down from a piece of angle maybe tomorrow. It's beer 30 now.

With battery pack in I can push the cart with one finger on flat cement. I could not do that with any of my other lead acid carts, they are far too heavy with high rolling resistance. This electric cart is going to be light and quick. The wind yesterday even pushed it some.
