Default New piston g16

G16 is smoking figure oil ring is bad but still runs good. Question is should I go with an oversized piston and rings or std? Was also tossing the idea around about getting plowman's cam and hot setup.

You won't be dissatisfied with anything from Plowmans.

Just depends on the cylinder condition. If ring end gap is to big or scratch's in the bore, go over sized. Won't know till its apart for inspection. I will say, it's a GOOD chance the oil rings are gone. Do a compression check first (at wide open throttle). Should be 155 (low) to 175 lbs compression.

Yeah, definitely disassemble and inspect/measure first...I took a gamble on a single oversize set before taking my G16 apart..then I had to order the double oversize rings once I got the cylinder bore free of scratches.
If you end up needing single oversize rings I have an OEM set I would let go CHEAP.

Thanks for the help. Will do a compression test first. Plan on pulling it part next weekend. These things are addicting lol.
