Default 1975 ezgo 2stroke

This cart ran before, but now it wont rev up enough to engage the clutch. Cleaned the carb. Drained old gas and mixed new with oil as specified. Trying to get it running for parade. air screw is set at 3/4 turn. We are about 850 feet above sea level. thanks for any help.

When you say you cleaned the carburetor did you take it down to the last nut and bolt, remove the jets and nozzles and clean out the orifices?

Why don't you take the fuel line off the carburetor and point it into a jar then crank the engine. You should see a large pulsing jet of fuel.

Let us know what happens.

OK, let's try checking the seals: Jack up the cart or pull the drive belt so You don't run anything over if it *does* fire up ... Now, while turning it over normally, spray some wd40 or carb cleaner at the rear of the motor where the crankshaft exits the engine, then, try it again while spraying directly into the fan on the front of the motor. If either of these actions result in a change in RPM's, then thast corresponding seal needs to be replaced.

(an easier test but not as accurate is to start it in reverse - 8 times or so out of 10 if the seals are going but not *gone*, the cart will still run reasonably well backwards - at least better than it does in forward ...)

opkay, pulled of fuel pump. line going from fuel pump to crankcase had hole where it rubbed. replaced it and tried again. nothing. it acutaly tried to run and thats it. I keep thinking fuel. Like i said took carb off and cleaned. pulled jets and needels out and blue orrfice out. hopefully the lines went back correctly on fuel pump. one line on top goes to engine, one on bottom goes to fuel tank and other one one bottom goes to carb.
