Default Allied Lithium batteries?

I have a 36v ezgo txt and the FLA batteries are on their last legs. In looking into lithium I found the batteries in the link below. My questions are does anybody have experience with them? Are they good quality? The price seem cheaper then other lithium batteries I’ve seen which concerns me.
We use the cart in a gated mobile home park with some hills but never drive more than 10-15 miles a day. Will 50 or 60ah be enough range? We are also in Arizona so hot dry weather most of the year. How do lithium batteries do in heat?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Doesnt seem too bad for someone who doesnt wanna build their own system. 50ah 36v setup with charger around 1700. I built my leaf setup 48v for 1200 and that was everything

Personally I wouldn't spend a penny on Allied batteries after my emails trying to get specifications on their batteries. The very same dealer informed me the the battery specs are proprietary information... unless Allied has developed a revolutionary new battery that the rest of the world isn't aware of... I posted the emails in this thread:

I posted this in the Club Car forum but since I have an RXV I’ll re-post it in here... Sorry mods for the dual posts.

So I went ahead and pulled the trigger and ordered the 60ah version of these batteries I guess I’ll be the guinea pig.

I’m a golf cart newbie and acquired a used cart last month. It came with 4 12v AGM batteries and my range on my RXV was by my guess 10-12 miles. I kind of looked at all options, I did the math and decided that a 6-8v battery upgrade would be cheaper than lithium but still costly since I would want to do it right with the rack and associated watering system however my wife wasn’t thrilled with the prospect of topping off the water every month. I didn’t feel confident with my engineering acumen (I was a business major in college) to pursue the leaf battery route. So drop-in solution it is. The Trojans were pricey compared to Allied.

I talked to Allied customer support to verify a few things before I was satisfied enough to place the order.

First is that the Lester Summit II charger can be used and will not void the warranty. They recommended using the AGM profile. Which is actually what Trojan recommends for their batteries.

They have been selling these batteries for 18 months with no major issues reported so far. They kept standing by their range claims associated with their batteries. By my guess I was figuring that the 60ah would probably get about 25 miles a charge which is what EZGO advertises with their Elite 60ah cart. (I believe... correct me if I’m wrong.) The Allied Rep did tell me that the 60ah was their best seller.

Batteries are shipped via FedEx which was important to me because from my experience FedEx will not transport Lithium batteries from questionable sources or manufacturers.

The only thing I felt like I was missing out on by not going with Trojan was their reputation of reliability and the SOC meter on each battery.

I went ahead and place the order and they arrived two days later via FedEx from St. Louis. After unboxing I pulled out my old batteries and replaced these... it was drop-in replacement as they advertised. I was shocked at how light these batteries were my concern is that they still move around a little so I’ll have to find a way to make sure they are completely secure in the battery tray.

After the swap I plugged in the charger and they were ready to go in an hour. I drove around my neighborhood for 8 miles with an average speed of 15mph and the SOC meter showed 71% of charge remaining. My neighborhood is mostly flat and my wife and kids were on board. So by my guess I’d say I should get at least 25 miles per charge. When I got back I plugged it back in and it was fully charged again in under an hour. I left it unplugged overnight and the next morning still showed 100%. Obviously the batteries are brand new so vampire drain should be minimal.

So far I’m happy with the purchase, I’ll be interested to see how they hold up going forward. I’m envious of the guys who did the Leaf mod but with my travel schedule I thought this was the best Lithium cost effective option. I hope this helps some guys that are on the fence about making the jump to Lithium. It was hard to find any true testimonials. I’ll continue to send any updates as to how they’re working out.

For what's worth, they appear to have just lowered their price to $1380 (36v). I am way behind on lithium knowledge but that seems to be a very fair price if nothing else.

Hello, just curious if your Allied's are still working well? I'm getting ready to order them for my Precedent.

Hi I haven’t used my cart because of the holidays. So far I can say it looks great, the weight difference is noticeable and as I mentioned in my post above the expected mileage is promising.

I can tell that I was driving 27.3 miles per hour!!! - due to the Controller and the loss of weight. And there was not a single thing due to amp demand even when pushing the pedal from 0

Go ahead. They have 7 years warranty.
IMHO I wouldn’t get anything less than 80Ah

I have the std motor, but the controller XT400. 14”tires.

Note: I bought the charger, but it didn’t arrived. I asked if I can use the std. acid charger and this is the response.

“If you must use the Lead Acid Charger just charge it for a few hours and unplug. Sometimes they stay on and can damage batteries, new charger is on the way.”

I don't trust them. Early adopters were unsatisfied and were not given much in the way of options for the built-in BMS dropping out when the carts drew more current than that. It's not just simply a drop-out when your carts controller gets corrupted when the input power drops during operation. Mechanically controlled carts are a thing of the past these days. How those people were treated by the battery manufacturer will stick with me for a long time.
