The reason I posted the diagram is that a lot of folks are buying the expensive Gigavac contactor but not taking advantage of it to auto disconnect the pack.

I guess I see having to remember to lift the seat every time you want to put the BMS to sleep and wake it up as being more complicated than wiring a simple relay and push button that automates the entire process.

It was just another idea that I thought would be relevant to the topic of this thread.

None of the stuff we discuss here is required, but only omit items if You have a good understanding of how it all works.

If I ever go Lithium, I would likely also try and automate anything that I might forget to do. Especially since I drive more in Summer than Winter, when it would make the most difference.

Wire it once and forget it.

That was somewhat tongue n cheek. With some coaching from Scotty’s, I got through a mess of a resistor cart conversion to solid state with reduced and headlight so I should be ok. I appreciate y’all posting your experiences.
