Default 20hp kohler conversion

Hello all, I'm new here so go easy on me. I have a 97 club car that I have put an 8" lift w 25" tires, custom candy apple red paint new seats and a stainless cage on. I just aquired a 20hp Kohler motor and am looking for guidance if anyone has used this motor and how the starter/generator stays in play and if the clutch is usable or if there is a usable clutch for this motor. Im sure I will have more questions as I dig deeper into the project so feel free to throw any info you have on the conversion my way. Thanks

welcome, we like pictures...... what kind of kohler 20hp? v-twin? you will use the starter on the kohler, and you will need to get a clutch.

Welcome.
You will have to get a clutch.
Check out CPP, one of the sponsors.
They specialize in that stuff...

Thanks guys. Yeah it's the v-twin. I will check CPP for the clutch. If I use the Kohler starter what will replace the generator for charging or is there an auxillary belt drive set up to run it or an aftermarket alternator?

Smile Re: 20hp kohler conversion

Check your model # on the engine and see if you
can research it.
Most have charging stators under the flywheel
so you would'nt need the generator.
Hope this helps...
