just a stupid question?
found a watertight 4pin plug behind the dash on my 2011 precedent, wiring diagrams show it for a SMART BOX hookup. just wondering if anyone knows what a smart box is? And what is it used for.

Most likely it is the connector for the Visage GPS golf course tracking system.

If it is round, fastened to the bottom of the dash, it is a test port.

I missed that LOL. Yes, if its round and below the dash it is the programmer/diagnostic test port. If behind the dash then as stated previously.

Thank you all and yes, it is a square 4pin plug behind the dash not the service port under the dash. Never thought about accessory like a GPS or other addon like that. good to know thanks.

Yes. A 1313 Curtis programmer + appropriate adapter cable. A pretty expensive bit of kit but worth it's weight in gold.

Not too sure, but most curtis controllers should connect to it as far as i know? Maybe someone else will have more info.
