Default Value of E-Z-Go Sport II

looking at a golf cart near me, and wondering what it is worth. had a club car DS so know a good amount about them, not much about an E-Z-Go. from what i read this is a utility/work cart.

owner says it is an E-Z-GO Sport II with the Subaru engine. He is supposed to let me know which engine it is, seen some have the 401cc

looks to be in good working order, runs drives, 4 new wheels, has wrong seat on it, bed looks to be shot. does not look like the correct roof, maybe wrong but look like it was made to fit :o

I have not physically seen the cart, just info he sent me on it.

wondering
is this a good cart for upgrading and modifying
what kind of upgrades are available and availability/ease of upgrading
can you put a rear seat on this cart to make a 4 seater
is the drivetrain (eng, diff) reliable and dependable
is the drivetrain (eng, diff) upgradable (like to get around 25mph out of cart)

If it's a Subaru it's a 2-cylinder 350cc, later they were the 1-cylinder Kawasaki 401s, lift kit (same as a txt) and larger tires will get you some speed, might get up to 25 with a governor adjustment (just before it blows)

Top is correct.

thanks, i will see if he can verify the engine
he said it was a 2 cyl Subaru so that would jive with your info and help narrow down year.

is that Subaru a good engine ? is it limited to what it is ? getting any more power speed out of it. heard they were dependable and reliable,

i asked him what year it was, not sure he knows or how to find out... sounds like he has used it for a while, and now moving on.

Early carts had a plate in the passenger side cubby with the serial number and a manufacturer date. Older ones have a sticker on the rail above the motor. Txt carts cut over to a newer front axle in 2001 but some of the workhorse models had the 3 bolt style until 05.. Guessing it has the robins 2 cylinder in it but if it runs decent it is worth $2k

I thought the ST 2+2 was a four seater from factory. Looks more like a late MPT 1200 to me but I could be wrong. We need the manufacturers code and serial number to be sure of year. As already stated, the older style axle snd steering was still used after 2001.5 unlike the TXT carts.

Anything is possible, you could put a supercharger on it.
