Li-Ion Charging Issues
I have a 10s 36V Nissan Leaf Cheap Chinese BMS build. I am running the charge current through the BMS. I have a Delta Electronics charger ESR48 from Tech-Direct.
The charger voltage is set for 41V, the overvoltage cutoff on the BMS is set for 41.5. The charger is prematurely ramping the charge current down to zero. The charger is ramping the current down to zero starting at about 38.8 volts. This has been somewhat intermittent but when it happens I won't reach 40V. I have connected another constant current power supply through the BMS and verified the BMS is not malfunctioning. I can top up the charge to the batteries up to my supply voltage. This just started happening this week. I also have noticed some issues with the breaker tripping recently I would presume it would be related. The power supply shares the circuit with my compressor however they are not running at the same time. Any thoughts would be appreciated. |

Re: Li-Ion Charging Issues
What is the voltage output of the charger when it is not connected to the pack?
Are you using a good quality voltmeter (Fluke, etc)? |
