99 CC DS Go-No-Go
OK tightened the S/G belt banjo tight and it cranked every time. Now it will click from solenoid but no go. Sometimes you can roll the engine over by hand and it may or may not crank? I have wiggled wires on micro switches and it may or may not go so I'm thinking it may be 1 of those 2 micros? Battery is up and sometimes it may run all day without doing it? Uhhhhhh!!!

Most won't agree with me, but from my experience with my cart, you CAN have the S/G belt TOO tight!
Mine did the same thing, so much so... it blew the 10 amp fuse in the ECB! I loosened the belt to the point of where it didn't slip and the S/G would still turn past the compression stage! .02 |

Re: 99 CC DS Go-No-Go
Well before I tightened the belt you would have to keep pushing gas pedal several times before it would take off? That's why I thought about the micros. As soon as I tightened the belt it worked perfect for about 2 days and then started this.

Re: 99 CC DS Go-No-Go
Ok when it clicks and no go, I can rotate the s/g by hand and it will go, seems like it may be that when it stops in a certain spot it wont take off. Kinda like the brushes may be bad in the s/g? Put a load test on the batt and its good.
All micros are working and the solenoid, so I'm back to the s/g. |

Re: 99 CC DS Go-No-Go
you have a dead spot on the starter - the brushes are likely worn.
It is easy to change them but you probably have a groove worn around the armature now. save yourself time and headaches and buy the oem club car starter for $225 - please do not buy the junk $125 one's on ebay I have 6 in my scrap pile now, none lasted more than 6 months. |
