Default Lockman, Lockman, you da dude- it worked

Folks, I got to say, I was listening to the suggestions to get my 97 DS gas cart with a honda clone engine to go into reverse

Lockman made the suggestion, that while I was rolling forward on a slight incline, let off the gas slip into neutral and then try to get the cart into reverse!

Holy crap it worked- and I drove it around in reverse-

It seems like it wants to pop out of forward and that seems like that could be a slight adjustment now

I cant tell you how much I appreciate the advice- I have to say the spot I used was on our lawn and it is hardly a bump, not a hill, like I thought I needed and I have to say I am so glad I did listen to him and did not try to tow it with my van or riding lawn mower!!!!!!! I can not explain how fast it started backwards and my fat foot hit the gas- If we would have towed it, We could have broken the cart or me lolol

thank you sir its ALIVE

Very cool! I'm glad it worked for you!
There's only a few that have had that problem, and it worked for them,
I always kept it in the back of my mind just in case it would happen to me!

I really only know my cart! But, reading about cart "fixes" for the last 11 years helps!

I know that this is a very old post, I just wanted to re-iterate that Lockman saved the day again.
2009 Precedent, same condition as described above.
Jacked up the rear end about 1/2 throttle in reverse, let off the gas and simultaneously slapped it into forward, fairly loud grind, let it stop on its own and now forward and reverse.
So Thank You very much for the trick, worked like a champ!
