95 Club Car - Speed
I did the zip tie on the governor thing and now I basically only have one speed. Wide open. Is there anything I can adjust to get the slow speeds back but keep the zip ties on for top end?

You've got the zip too tight! cut it off and try again, but leave it a bit looser!
Leaving the zip a bit looser will bring down your top speed, but will also give you low speed cruising! Click pic to enlarge: Govenor Zip-Tie 001.jpg |

re: 95 Club Car - Speed
Let me first start off by saying that's a typo in the title. It's not an 05...It's a 95. Mine looks nothing like yours. I don't know all the correct terminology so here's my description.
Under the back hatch...the arm that moves when you press the gas pedal...that's what I have zip tied back. It's not tight enough that the engine cuts off. I did all of this in maintenance mode. I guess what I was wondering is, if you look at the steps in the *sticky on how to speed up the cart, I did not to the pedal rod adjustments and was wondering if that was my problem??? |

NOPE! cut that off!
See the spring to the right in your picture? (opposite end of the governor arm) THAT is the spring I have zip tied on my cart! |

Re: 05 Club Car - Speed
Go to the other end of that lever, there be the same spring that is zip tied in Lockman's photo.
Sorry about that, there must be an echo in here. |

Re: 95 Club Car - Speed
What exactly am I zipping on the spring. I can't really tell in Lockman's picture. Am I literally just to run a zip through the spring to keep it from expanding?

Re: 95 Club Car - Speed
Also...do I really need to fool with this? Or is zipping that spring going to be all I need?
Under the driver side floorpan, you will see a rod linking the gas pedal to the black box pivot. Remove this rod and lengthen it to the longest it will go without being wobbly. Make sure the spring actuated hold downs are back in the same position they came off in. Before you replace this, loosen the nyloc nut on the accelerator pedal return spring until there are only about 1/4" of visible threads left on the end of the rod. Replace the accelerator rod. |
