No Go 1993 DS
Hey everybody. 1993 Club Car 36v Controller cart. Just restored this thing. Been all through it. Took for test run, did fine. Came inside garage and hooked up charger, ran a couple hours and shut off, seems normal (brand new batteries.)
Went to move cart a while later, no go. Pack voltage full, each battery equal. Solenoid clicks. Have pack voltage at: solenoid, other side of solenoid with keyswitch on and pedal depressed and in forward and reverse, at controller, and at EACH terminal on motor S1 S2 A1 and A2. No sparks, no heat/burning etc. Wheels/motor spin freely by hand. What could possibly be going on? |

Re: No Go 1993 DS
Yes. All snug, clean and secure. Really sucks. I got snowed in accidentally on purpose at my brother's house this weekend (brought cart with me on trailer) to work on this thing. He has a 3 bay heated garage with a fridge full of beer! We are both good with cars etc. but our combined knowledge of electronics lies somewhere between changing a light bulb and putting batteries in a flashlight. I have a friend who is an electrical engineer, who can recite formulas and electrical theory, but is totally useless when it comes to actually working on something.
Does anybody know if getting full pack voltage reading from motor studs is normal? I can't imagine it being right. Thanks! |

Re: No Go 1993 DS
Looked at your old posts. Was running Thurs. but not today. Might be self-inflicted. What was done the last 3 days? By the way, my old Curtis controller gave up when I trailered the cart.

Re: No Go 1993 DS
Could be solonoid contacts
Jack it up, jumper the big wires on the solonoid, then press "go pedal" |

Re: No Go 1993 DS
I fixed a crimp connector. Checked all the others. Cart ran fine. Charger rode in car with me. Could a bad charger cause this? Thanks!

Re: No Go 1993 DS
Sorry golfer dave and crash, didn't see yall's posts. Would it be ok to jump the solenoid first crash? Controller is pain in the *** to get to on this thing, no access panel.

Re: No Go 1993 DS
Cart only ran correctly AFTER it was trailered.

Re: No Go 1993 DS
Jumped solenoid, no difference. Goes up to 37.9 volts with or without jumper.
