Is there a "best" year for the precedent?
I'm looking for a used Precedent. This will be my first cart and it will be used as transportation at a beach RV park and will also be used on public streets on the island. I will be adding a rear seat, lights and turn signals to make it street legal. I'm trying to find information on the model year changes for the Precedent and having no luck. Is there a best model year or certain years to avoid?
Thanks |

Probably nothing but I think Crash just means they are first year carts after the changes and might still be ironing out little bugs.

One of my carts is a 2005 Precedent. It has 4x12 batteries. If I had a choice I would avoid these only due to the desire to have 6x8.

yes the 04 is first year ... and when ordering parts for an 08 you need to know if it was 08 or 08.5
i do agree look for 6~8v batteries |

Re: Is there a "best" year for the precedent?
I just have to say this, if only for my own sanity..... I had 6 x 8's in my first 2 carts and I have 4 x 12's in my current one. I love my 4 x 12's. Granted, I do not race it, run it sun up to sun down, but any distance I go with 2 people or 4 1/2, any terrain I tackle, the batteries have never failed me or even close. And maybe I am getting smarter or better with the batteries as I get older, but I never had batteries last as long as the 12's I have now (US batteries Date Code June '10) and they have a pack voltage this morning of 50.8 after charging yesterday afternoon.... j/s
I do P&P (Park & Plug) every time I move it. I keep the aqua just over 1/4" (distilled only) I put a Battery Life Saver on it at a year or two of ownership So when the day comes my 4 x 12's finally give out, there will be 4 more going right back in there and hopefully last just as long or longer..... |

I agree "Nole!" Everybody seems to throw down on 4 12's. I just replaced my '08 set of Trojans with 4 12's of Red U.S. Batteries. Never a minute's problem! Proper battery care is the key!
