Default Re: charger voltage output for 48v CC

I believe the CC OBC are all the same......Someone able to confirm or correct me? Controllers are very voltage and system specific. You could go for a controller w/ a bit more amperage but anything over 300 amps is a waste of $ unless you intend to go big on the other compinents and it doesn't sound as if that is your intention..... So a used obc and 48 volt regen controller might be had from another member for like ...about... anyone got some?

You would have to change the motor but its no big deal. you should be able to pick up a good stock series motor for around $75.
The motor is called a "shunt" motor because the field is in parallel, or "shunts" the armature.
The motor field windings for a series motor are in series with the armature.
I had problems with a bunch of the regin I and regin II's and have done the conversion to series. Its a job, but worth it. In the end you will have a more reliable cart.

I agree. If you're going to continue to upgrade, series is the way to go. Also, the charger will put out ~62V near the end of the charge cycle.

Don,t get me wrong though....I kinda like the IQ's...well...I'm building one, a 2006 CC, 48Volt, DCX600 Alltrax with the IQ adapter, 8:1 gear, 506:2 D&D Motor.

Anyways, cart runs really strong, pulls really hard too! Ramp is set high so it spins on pavement pulling off.
Run's in the low 30'smph I'm guessing?? No speedo yet.
Just having to work on them on a daily basis, I like the series carts better.
