Default Re: G29 Clutch Questions

Sorry for reviving an old thread but my question seems appropriate. I'm trying to help my FIL find a new secondary/driven clutch for a 2008 YDRA. I've read several post that state that both the primary and secondary have to be changed at the same time. However it seems the new 2014 secondary may fit with a couple of hardware items that help the alignment.

Will this clutch setup work on his cart without changing the primary clutch?

clutch assy; jw8-g6202-20-00
bolt 90105-08002-00
washer 90209-08018-00
collar jw8-g5697-20-00

thanks for your inputs...

Jw1 clutches & Jw8 clutches don't even use the same belt (different length, & more importantly different width- can buy different length belts, but not 2 widths on one belt). So I'm gonna follow Yamahas suggestion & say no interchange. Feel welcome to do any experiments you want to spend your dough on, but could lead to less than satisfactory results.

Are there any matching clutches we can buy for an 07-12 g29 drive cart that will work other than the team pos ones that are currently on our carts?

Jw8 clutch set & j55-g6241 belt. The team clutch was pretty much a "throwaway" clutch with very few parts available. Can't even buy the team clutch set anymore anyway.

Still about $550 for all that on a quick search.
Plowmans kit is $600 for both new clutches, belt, filter, performance etc...
Now is it better to go with plowmans setup using the same Team primary clutch?
Or better going with the jw8setup?
Or can we just buy a comet 780 clutch and be done with the primary clutch for good? Wishful thinking there....
