Default Batteries Only Charging 50%

I have just purchased a Toro Workman with Trojan 105 6 volt batteries. They will only charge to 50%. I know nothing about these systems, just seeking advice. Don't know if it's new battery time or something else. After the charger is stopped, batteries read at 6.1 to 6.2 volts, and the Guage on the vehicle reads 50%.

Not sure about the charger, I take it that it came with the vehicle which is an 06. According to the chart it's more like a 70 to 80%. I'll look into the digital. Thanks for the replies.

Eight. Don't know the age of the batteries, can't read any code on the posts. I have replaced several cables, topped off the cells, cleaned, etc.

By the way CTD, hope you survived the storm. I was down in Palm Bay last week buying a transaxle. Glad it wasn't in the last of the week.

yea that's to low
do you have a load tester ?

they do come with the 8 x 6v batteries ... which gives you longer run time
it has an on-board charger ? that may be the problem
try a quick re charge an see if it comes up

just got back from Texas so i missed it
