Re: Powerdrive 3 not charging
So a cart retailer/service provider swapped my charger for a loaner and has reported that my "transducer" is shot. I asked if he meant "transformer" and he said, "no, the transducer. These get expensive and it ends up costing as much as a new charger." I asked again if he meant transformer... is there a transducer?
They want $450 for a new charger or $175 for me to keep the loaner that has a badly dented case and frayed charge plug. I appreciate their help in diagnosing but I'm over having old, broken chargers. I can order a new Lester charger for $230 shipped. What should I do? |

Re: Powerdrive 3 not charging
Get a Lester or DPI. The DPI has the float feature that will keep batteries at 100% + all of the time.

Does the obc do anything other than manage charging? Does it affect speed or controller? Is jumping the charge port terminal to battery negative the proper OBC bypass? If so, it makes sense to me that I could install A toggle switch to allow charging from both powerdrive and non powerdrive chargers, right? Any concerns with switching back and forth? Frankly, this OBC stuff is silly! I'm already installing a 12v accessory battery and easy access charge receptacle plus a switch for the attached radio. Would be clean to put the obc bypass switch in at the same time. |

Re: Powerdrive 3 not charging
I don't think a switch will allow going back and forth....maybe I'm wrong.
But I don't think you want the neg cable going through the OBC if you are using a non OBC Charger. And you are correct, the only function for the OBC is to "talk" to the charger. |
