Installing High Speed Magnet GE Motor
Hi Guys,
I cant begin to explain how much help you have all been over the last few weeks in helping me diagnose and fix problems with my Cart I have an AQ and i have gathered from a few threads that people recommend the cheaper way to get more out of the cart by installing a magnet. I have worked out (through the forum) that it is a GE motor by the snap in speed sensor which i believe to be faulty. I figured i may aswell install the magnet at the same time as installing the new sensor (if that was possible). Can anyone forward me in the right direction in how to install the new magnet?? Thanks again for everything so far! |

The important part to remember is that you do not have to remove any screws.
You just pry the old magnet off the Motor Armature shaft and tap the new one in place using a large wood dowel until is flush with the end of the shaft. Get it from David and he will answer any questions You have: https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/p...otor-iq-system |

Re: Installing High Speed Magnet GE Motor
On the top of the page click on the search button and type "GE Motor" there should be tons of information and hardluck stories. Follow directions carefully.

i just went thru the bad speed sensor replacement and did the magnet at the same time
i put the cart on jack stands, pulled the rear pass wheel and inner fender out at tahoedawg's recommendation i used a paint can lid remover to pull the magnet out easy peasy |

Re: Installing High Speed Magnet GE Motor
So where exactly does the magnet go? If i pull the sensor out the side of the motor (i'm guessing that is the easy part). Where do i go from there?

Re: Installing High Speed Magnet GE Motor
Thank you all for your help - which way round do i put the magnet and does it have to sit flush with the shaft or does it have to be pushed on further?
Sorry for the daft questions |

Re: Installing High Speed Magnet GE Motor
The 8 dots on the magnet need to be facing outward towards the sensor. Tap the magnet onto the shaft until it is flush. Don't knock it all the way down until it stops.
