Default Unknown device on a 2001 Club Car

I am doing an upgrade to my 2001 Club Car and noticed this part attached to the frame. It doesn't seem to be connected to anything, there are 2 wires with female spade connectors but they are not connected to anything. It is labeled "caution surface is hot"

Does anyone know what this is?

That is an OEM 16vdc-12vdc voltage reducer. It is the second biggest piece of crap Club Car ever invented/designed/produced.

So it doesn't do anything?

Nothing to be concerned about the wires connecting to nothing

Thanks

It use to be hooked up to a small panel in front of your batteries and was for 12v lighting/accessories on your cart. You either have no accessories anymore or have done what it needed and someone installed a 48v to 12v converter.

Just take it out. Leave the isolated neg. block (if it has one) for future use.
