Default OBC and 2ga wire

I replaced my batteries and went to 2ga wire but the ground wire didn't fit through the OBC.

How do you use 2ga wire and have it go through the OBC? Or do you have to do a bypass?

Some of the 2g wire will squeeze through the hole with some WD40 or such sprayed on it.
Alternatively you can buy or make an OBC stud using a brass bolt, some rubber washers and some brass nuts like this one, see item 14 here > https://www.cartsunlimited.net/battery-cables.html

Update.....

My son "made it fit" by making the hole bigger. To get it to charge I had to take a wire from the charge right to B- but now that isn't for more than a short time frame. And I need to do a OBC reset before the controller will engage.

I am going to ordered a new charger and OBC bypass kit. Is that the only way to go or is there something else now that I am where I am.... ?

Unfortunately he ruined the Hall Sensor in the OBC by enlarging it. You do not need a bypass kit, you can do that yourself. For the interim, run both the black 10g wire and the gray "sense" wire from the back of the charge receptacle that was going to the OBC, right to B- or Pack Neg.

Remember the charger you order needs to be a smart charger or at least a charger not required with an OBC.

I'm the only person I know to have successfully enlarged the hole without ruining it. You can only go just so far and luckily I didn't go that far...

Drilling the hole equals a dead OBC. I can’t believe how common that is…

Don’t buy a “bypass kit”. They’re a waste of money. You can do the exact same thing with a couple crimp connectors and a fuse.

What year is your cart and is it Series or Sepex drive? Properly bypassing the OBC differs slightly between the two.

2006 has the f/r switch with the little plug on the bottom. I can never remember but I think series....
