Jakes Front Disc Brakes - opinions
For those who have installed Jakes front disc brakes, what do you think? Was it worth it? Was it difficult to install? Any issues?
FYI, I current have Jakes 4 inch lift kit |

Re: Jakes Front Disc Brakes - opinions
had mine for a couple weeks now. it is a ds, if you want look it up 56 Studebaker build. install starts at the end of page 6. took a couple hours to put on. directions are good, but not great. went from 12-15 foot locked up leaving rubber 11s almost hit a car, to 3-4' no rubber left behind, feeling in control. well worth it to me. you will need 10" wheels with strait bell to clear the brakes, mine are 14"

Re: Jakes Front Disc Brakes - opinions
I've had mine for about 8 years now. End of last year I had to change the disc pads as I wore out the originals. That was an easy job to do.
Where I use my cart I couldn't "live" without the Jakes brakes. I went from going on downhill rollacoaster type rides, to smooth stoppable rides. |

Re: Jakes Front Disc Brakes - opinions
You are dealing with a very small volume of brake fluid. Very hard to pump up and blead. Get a good pump oil can, clean it good put brake fluid in it. Platistc tube on end of oil spout other end on wheel bleader valve open master cylinder cap. Pump brake fluid back to master cylinder. When bubbles stop close bleader valve, repeat for other wheel.
