Default Yamaha G9 crank no start

hey guys so i bought a yamaha g9 the other day. got it fired up and drove it around for about 20 minutes then parked it for abt 5 minutes and it will no longer fire. it has fuel, voltage going into coil, new battery, new spark plug, pulled apart and cleaned the carb, cleaned the connections at igniter box, and at coil. fuel pump is is working efficiently, only thing is it seems to have a weak spark. it consistantly will urn over but will not fire no popping or even a hint of ignition. any feedback or input will be appreciated.

thanks Rob

Compression? Also check for a blown fuse. Might want to check fuel pressure at the carb, could be a clogged filter or fuel pump. Did this cart sit for a long time before? I'm wondering if there might be dirt in the carb. I had a carb sitting in my garage for a few weeks, and when I put it together it ran then quit. Couldn't get it started. Pulled carb off and cleaned it out with spray, ran like a dream. Must have had a piece of dirt stuck in the jet?

Give it a shot of starting fluid. IF it starts then it 's most likely the carb. If it doesn't start on the fluid you can bet it's ignition related. All this assumes you have decent compression.I have seen engines run on starting fluid and then not start on fuel but these had very low compression readings.

It was sitting for abt two years. I pulled the carb and cleaned it out completely yesterday. I teated for compression the old fashion way with my thumb over the spark plug hole and it seemed good. I dont have a compression tester. Where would the fuse be located. And what does the fuse control?

My g14 had been messed with plenty before I got but when the fuse was blown it went dead all over would not even crank. The finger over the hole isn't too reliable.Recently I worked on an old harley cart that would not start.Did the finger over the hole seemed fine.Still would not start even on fluid.Put on compression tester.Tester read 60 psi.Replaced piston and rings, fired right up.

thanks for the reply and info i pulle the entire harness and am going through it i found a broken ground i thing that goes to the voltage regulator, a damaged whit and black one that goes in to the case. and then there is a sensor of some kind on the bottom of the case by the drain plug and that wires broken as well. any idea what that is or where it goes? it has black insulation over a black wire with a red stripe
