Default I think I fixed the G1

I have had a lot of issues with this old G1 in the couple years I have had it. This spring I put on a new carb and spark plug cap, ran GREAT!! When the grandkids come they would be driving it around and it would just die, I checked for spark and there wasn't any, wiggled wires and take spark plug cap off and on 3 or 4 times and then it would start and run great again. It did it this afternoon with our daughter driving. We pushed it in the shed and I jacked up one wheel and started wiggling wires while cranking it. When I got to the wire to the coil, it took off. On closer inspection, the wire appeared to be nearly broke off of the lug coming out of the coil. Unsoldered the wire, stripped it back a ways and resoldered it. It ran great the rest of the afternoon and evening, so maybe I got lucky and fixed it this time. The lug coming out of the coil has some wiggle in it where it goes into the coil, so I should probably get a new coil. Hope that fixed it. Chris

Wiring, about the most frustrating thing of any cart, car, house........ Well you get the picture.

Glad you got if figured out but probably not as happy as you and those grand kids are.

Nothing feels better and gives you more satisfaction of troubleshooting a problem and fixing it yourself without the need of a costly mechanic. At least that's the feeling I get.

And you also get to keep a somewhat fatter wallet, or at least buy something else useful for the cart with the savings.
