engine wont crank
hi any advice please ,bought new battery for g14a Yamaha golf buggy, still wont turn over, then replaced the solenoid ,still the same new voltage regulator fitted ,yet the when you press the pedal all you hear is a small click sound ,any ideas please ,at my wits end now, any advice would be appreciated

First thing I would do is check all the grounds, soleonoid mounting plate ground, engine ground, starter generator ground, have had the same issues on my G-14.

In addition to the above, could be brushes bad in starter. One test is to check battery voltage before and during pedal depress to see if drawing current. (Voltage will fall if drawing current and make sure cart is in neutral or wheels off ground). Good luck - RAY

As you are hearing the solenoid click it should be ok but when the gas pedal is pressed down you should be able to measure 12+ volts going across the large terminals of the solenoid. Without knowing your cart specifically that normally means that the solenoid is sending 12v to the starter so the problem has to be with the starter or associated wiring. |
