yamaha g2 gas cart won't do anything

Cart sitting for a couple of years, last time it was driven it just stopped running. I have bought a new battery for it. Pushed on gas pedal and heard a click, only once. Checked power to solenoid, 12 volts. once you pressed pedal no more 12 volts and no more clicking. i am thinking the solenoid is bad. any other ideas. Thanks

Check the battery posts for connection first. You have a white/red wire usually goes to key, then to pedal switch, then to solenoid/coil/ignitor to fire them all up with 12v when key and pedal are both on. Test for that wire to be 12v at solenoid or coil (when key/pedal are on), if so you know the key and pedal are working. Test battery cable before and after solenoid for 12v (if the solenoid is clicking with pedal and you know 12v is there). Bad connection can click then not work especially battery posts, they can not work at all then next time work, so check all connections first they are common issues, also check ground connections they are wired in yamaha they do not use frame. When I bought my G9 8yr old all the connectors on the start solenoid were replaced already.
