2008 Yamaha G29 Drive does nothing !
I just picked up a 2008 Yamaha Drive 48 volt cart that sat in a garage for 3 years not driven. Batteries were 6 years old and dead so I installed 4 new Us 12 volts. I have good pack voltage and when i put the tow switch on run the solenoid clicks. When I turn the key on the volt meter registers full but nothing after that. No reverse buzzer, no solenoid click when the pedal is depressed, nothing. I pulled all connections to look for corrosion and everyone looked good. All battery cables were replaced also. The cart rolls free at all times. The solenoid seems to get hot just sitting there ! Any help will be appreciated !

Is the reverse buzzer plugged in? It's under the front nose.

Yes, I'm not sure if it works though. I get no movement, no solenoid clicking when the pedal is depressed
I pulled the body to work on it easier and it appears someone installed a jumper wire from the A2 post of the controller to the small post black wire of the solenoid. When I removed the jumper wire I get no solenoid click when I switch from tow to run. |

That sounds like the tow/run circuit is faulty for some reason. That's where the solenoid gets its B+ from.

RED Flag...….. Probably smoked the controller.... no reverse buzzer. And the question I always ask is " why was it parked" The majority of the time is because it is broken and no one knows how to fix it. Of course, they always say, "it just needs batteries" |

I know what your saying about being parked. I don't have a problem replacing the controller at the price I paid for the cart I just wanted to make sure it wasn't something simple before I bought a new one. I'll order a new one and see what happens.. Thanks!
