Default Delta-Q Charger for 48V Yamaha- Need to Bypass Sense Wire

I've searched the forum and I can't find an easy answer to this yet.

I have a modified 48V golf cart that I gutted and put an Alltrax system in it. So charging is now done by a simple 48V charger with two wires connected to the battery pack.

Recently I bought a Delta-Q charger that was configured for a 48V Yamaha (3 contacts in the connector (PN 913-4800-09).

Can I just cut the connector and clip the positive and negative to the battery pack (ignoring the 3 wire) or do I need to bypass something with a resistor or diode to trick the third wire into thinking that it's connected to something?

I understand that it might need to be reprogrammed, but I have no info on this.

I'm knowledgeable electrically, so this can be answered technically.

Thanks for any advice I can get...

Part number or model number off the charger would be helpful. DeltaQ makes alot of different chargers and many of them are different.

The charger will work without the third green wire (if it's actually configured for Yamaha Drive).

I listed the model number above in my original post. If there is a different number that you need, let me know. This is the number on the charger that is listed as the "Model Number".

Do you know what the third green wire is doing? If it is a thermistor, battery voltage sense, or just a switch that senses contact?

It is usually for a temp sensor, but if it were previously successfully configured for a Yamaha, there would be no temp sensor. Some charging profiles require temp sensor, any profiles that worked on a Yamaha Drive would not be one that requires a temp sensor.

I don't know if this thread is still active, but the green wire is there so your cart will go into "tow" when it is being charged. To bypass you can simply open the charger and disconnect the green wire.

You can cut the connector if you want. The green wire can be attached to the tow run switch (replace by red wire) if you want your cart to switch off when charging. Be carefull not to touch the battery terminal with the green wire or you will fry the charger.

If the charger you bought is a PowerWise QE or DeltaQ SC-48 return it ASAP. You'll hate that blasted thing. Nothing but garbage fodder.

He posted a "913-" part number, which is a yellow & black QuiQ if I recall.
