Gas Cart EFI to Carb Conversion
I have acquired a 2017 Precedent gas with EFI. The ECU is bad.
My question... Can this cart be converted to use a carburetor? To replace the ECU / Throttle bore / Injector is just not cost effective. Thanks in advance for any input. |

Re: Gas Cart EFI to Carb Conversion
I've looked into this idea a bit, but haven't ordered anything to try to make a conversion like this yet. It's an EX40 and Subaru made the same motor for years in a carbed version. I kinda figure an original carb for an EX40 should fit it, might need some kind of adapter plate to space it out form the head a bit.
The coil is still a magneto coil and has a kill wire, so you may have to make some small changes to the wiring for that, but it shouldn't be hard to figure out. The only other thing will be fitting a low pressure fuel pump. I haven't looked at this motor close enough to know if it has a pulse line hookup for a diaphragm pump. There are plenty of low pressure electric pumps out there that will work though. |

Re: Gas Cart EFI to Carb Conversion
Thanks...
Guess I'm going to have to start measuring for a retrofit. |
