Hello
Dave here; live in western north Texas
I have a Melex 212 cart( it was free) in fairly poor shape , no batteries ,brake cables bad and battery box and frame rusted pretty bad. But it was free!!!
Looking foward to rebuilding what ever way I decide to go

Welcome. I am just about done doing something similar to what you are looking at, the thread is http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...12-refurb.html. I took parts off 2 melex's to make one. The folks here were very helpful to me. While I'm in no way an expert, I can say you will get to know your welder if your cart is as rusted out as mine was or if you want to lift it as I did. Good luck on your project. Don't forget to take pictures.
