Re: Which one is "first in series" of batteries need clarification for hooking up lig
Honestly the only way you are gonna get 36v is if you connect to #1 and #6 batteries. Period.

If you got 36v across 2 batteries, they'd likely blow up. Re-read my first post on page 1. Make sure all of your lights are hooked to the same 2 batteries. |

How "bout this... could it be because the resistor coil in it's casing are connected directly to the frame without insulation...thus then essentially being grounded to the frame? If so, is there some sort of insulation needed there and what?

YEs a ground short! That could be it ...... BUT! An electric golf cart should never have any current run to the frame! Are you trying to use a frame ground on an electric cart? Everything on an ELECTRIC cart is a 2 wire system .... maybe this is the problem?

Re: Which one is "first in series" of batteries need clarification for hooking up lig
you referred to the 2 on the passenger side meaning 2 batteries ? if you tried hooking to +on one battery and - on the second then you are getting 16 or 24 volts (depending on your setup 4-12v or 6-8v ect) to get 12v for lights use only one 12v battery. This will work short term but will discharge your batteries unevenly causing shorter battery life.

hummmmmmmm just wondering if shorting the life span of the battery pack is worth the cost of a cheap voltage reducer 36 volt to 12 volt
