I think this is my problem. Shouldn't the helix be rotated where the shoes touch the other shieve?
What caused this and how to fix? |

There is some ramp shoe left see arrow It appears to be very close to the transmision case, second arrow. It should have prewrap tension to keep the ramp on the helix. |

Pull the driven, disassemble it. There is a clip that every one says should be replaced with a spacer. When reassembling load the spring by twisting the movable sheave so the buttons(wear pads) are in contact with the helix.
I have never worked on one but they are very much like sled clutches. |
