I went to take it apart when I was trying to hold the movable piece down it rotated in to the correct position. I tried it and it is much better. The belt on the drive is almost to the top (1/8"). It will cruse at 23 mph @ 3900 rpm which is as fast as I want to go. It was almost like it was dry so checked and by grease gun was not pumping so I fixed that and gave it two squirts.

ETA you can not preload the power spring. It is a compression spring.

As I said no hands on, you say there is not a tang on both ends of the spring?

ya you can't pre load the torque springs just ahve to turn it so it doesn't get the helix going the wrong way
