Re: G16 Body Removal
We picked the Duplicolor Paint Shop Dark Emerald Green Metallic. I'm pretty lucky with my wife, she sees me trying to get the work done, and schedules herself off from work to help me spray the cart. She also knows that if she wants it done soon, she has to help, right now my second job work has really picked up, so my days off are limited. The work is either very busy, or not much at all, so I have to do all I can when it is available. Between fishing, camping, the kids, and now carting, all of that side money goes towards some kind of toys.

Lucky Man!! Enjoy it buddy!
Mine is usually encouraging also. Mike She and a buddy of mine assembled one of the Rats that I put in a truck back in the 80's! Those were the days!! I was washing and cleaning parts as they built it!... 23 yrs. old, 110 lbs. long red hair down to her butt! I can see it all now... Boy we had fun! |

Re: G16 Body Removal
We enjoyed the thrill of sanding together today. The paint is going on tomorrow. Both of my boys have ear infections, so no school today, which slowed us down. My wife picked up on the sanding well. Tomorrow she's going to spray her first job. I'll keep you posted...

Re: G16 Body Removal
We got the cart painted on Tuesday, and it came out pretty good. It's been a long time since the last time I sprayed anything, but the feeling came back pretty quick. My wife did a great job with the gun, and tomorrow the body goes back on. I would post some pictures, but my camera was broken thanks to one of my boys.

Is a procedure for a G22 the same as a G16?

Re: G16 Body Removal
The JBWeld may not hold. The problem being it gets hard and stiff where as the body has some flex, so what happens is the two differing materials don't work as well and out pops the repair down the line.
The best way and not expensive is with a urethane bumper repair kit. You can get it at almost any auto supply store. Small two part tubes like the JB Weld. It is flexible and made to do what you are doing. What I would recommend is roughing up the back of the body paned with some 80 grit and cutting a small 1 1/2" X 1 1/2" square of plastic window screening and fill from the back. The screening will keep the patch from popping out and leaving a hole. |

Re: G16 Body Removal
The JB Weld hasn't come out so far, what I did was chamfer the hole on the surface so that the fill had somthing to keep it in the hole. I also used a small patch of screen type mesh under every hole to help it bond to the underside of the body. I'll let you know if the JB comes out. Sorry, no pictures....one of my boys broke the camera.
