Default Put bad gas in 08 Ezgo ST Won't run now.

Hi BGW, Thanks for the great site.

Ok so i have a 2008 Ezgo ST. Was driving around fine and needed gas so i filled up from a drum. Was driving for a while when i noticed the engine starting to sputter, i looked at the gas and noticed it was real cloudy. Now my cart won't run at all.

Fuel pump runs great. and the starter works fine but the gas engine won't kick in.

Also had a problem with the carb spitting gas back out. Not sure how to remove the cables from the carb.

I ran fresh gas through and noticed very dark gas coming back out, is this normal?.

Thanks for information in advance. Will post pics if needed.

first of all, what engine? 13hp KAW or teh 11 hp robins/subaru?

So let me understand this. yout put bad gas in and it quit. it wont run now?

did you remove all the old gas?
did you replace the fuel filter?

removing the carb to give it a good cleaning may be the trick.

It's an 11hp Robins/subaru. 4 stroke.

I dumped all the gas out of the tank then purged all the fuel lines empty. Then ran fresh gas through the lines. The fuel pump works great. I also put a new fuel filter in.

When i run fresh gasoline through Black gas comes out. Seems to be mixed with oil. That's not normal for a 4 stroke right?

Having trouble removing the carb from the choke/throttle? cables. (Worried about breaking something hah.

Yep if the gas was cloudy it probably had water in it. You are at least going to have to drop the carb bowl to remove the water and maybe blow it out with compressed air.

Ok so i pulled out the carb and cleaned it and installed new spark plugs to no avail. I
decided to pull the exhaust off and noticed that it's pulling suction through the exhaust. Valve problem?

Have you checked the oil level. See if it's over full due to gas getting in the crankcase due to the carb needle being stuck in the open position. The exh valve may have stuck if there was no lubrication caused by lack of oil on the guide by gas diluted oil. But check the oil first and maybe change it and fill to the proper level along with the filter if you have one.

Are you putting 100% gas in? Any type of bio fuel should not ever be used......
