Default 1975 ez go gas golfcart

how can I tell what the engine size is and make. Someone said it is a 175cc not sure though. Also why will it start and move for 10 feet and die. I re=choke it, starts up and same results. 115lbs compression, took carb apart and put in carb cleaner for 2 days. This did the same thing before cleaning carb too.

From vintagegolfcartparts. com:

"From 1971 to 1975 E-Z-GO used a 175cc 2-cycle 1PG engine. This engine had four head bolts. It was painted blue. It had an internal starter generator."

Did you take the entire carb apart to clean it or just blast some cleaner down the throat?

thanks for response Heliarc. No I took the entire carb apart, put in bucket of carb cleaner for couple days, removed all jets and screws ect. What make is the 1PG engine, polaris? I am just wondering if it might be crank seals. Not sure how to check though. or where to get them.

To check the crank seals, take some ether, or WD or something like, and spray it at the crank seals while your cranking the engine. If it fires up immediately when you give it a puff, you know it's sucking air in.That's how you test them.

i had a 77 and it had a 247cc robins motor made by subaru and your issue could be in the fuel pump it might need a rebuild or a new one
