Default Test drive on 24v?

I found some limited information on this, but it seems the general consensus is that it will work but at a crawl.

I have a lifted and stretched limo style 84 Melex with 22" tires that I plan to run 8 6v batteries in. I have an alltrax 500 amp controller, 2/0 gauge welding cable with soldered lugs, heavy duty solenoid, ch-4001 advanced fleet speed motor.

I picked up half the batteries a couple of weeks ago, saving up money in my "toy budget" for the last four. Otherwise, the cart is wired up and ready to go once the last 4 batteries are in.

My question is, can I do a test run with just the 24v? I just want to be sure everything is dialed in so that all I have to do is mount and connect 4 more batteries before I put the body back on and cruise. I know that the controller can be bench tested with as little as 18v, but old I be risking any damage to the batteries by drawing too much current from them actually drivinthatch a heavy cart?Is it even recommended?

Don't do it.
Put the rear wheels up on jacks and test it without a load. Excessive draw under low voltage will cause excess amperage draw and heat may damage your control, F&R, etc.
