Canuck, start with a compression test. Borrow or rent a compression guage, that will get you started. If compression is low (100 or lower) follow the suggestions for low compression. If compression is ok (over 100) work with the carb suggestions.

Thanks for all your tips. Finally got around to doing some work on the old machine. Cleaned the spark plug, new gas filter, new gas lines from filter to fuel pump and new line from fuel pump to carb. Still the same problem. Have to give it that little bit of choke to get it going, then it goes like H-E-double hockey sticks.
Speaking of hockey, how about those Bruins. Still tied for first place this year. Oh well, maybe well get some hockey by Christmas. Again, thanks for your tips and will get on to some more of them soon. |
