Carryall 2 starter wire melted
Hello All,
I replaced the starter in my carryall 2. After a day, the jumper wire melted. (This is the wire that just goes between two posts on the starter.) What could have caused this? Would a too tight belt? Or should I look somewhere else? Thanks! |

Re: Carryall 2 starter wire melted
Does anyone know what the jumper wire is for?
I'm going to replace the starter and not make the belt so tight and see what happens. Thanks. |

Re: Carryall 2 starter wire melted
The jumper is to configure the motor into a series conected motor. The field and armature are in series vs a shunt or compound wired motor.
As far as why it is melting but none of your other are melting I am not sure off hand. |
