3pg rebuild
Does anyone know what type of sealant is recommended for crank case halves? My manual only tells me to use (appropriate sealant) Don't know if I need something special or just silicone. Thanks

Re: 3pg rebuild
I'm also curious. Both the high temp and the oil resistant RTV I bought say they should not be used for head gaskets OR areas exposed to gasoline, which would include the crank case.

Anaerobic gasket maker. It's made for metal to metal without a gasket.

Anyone use Permatex Motoseal 1? It sounds like it might be good.

Re: 3pg rebuild
Mike, between the anaerobic gasket maker and Motoseal, you would pick the anaerobic gasket maker?

Re: 3pg rebuild
I've rebuilt a bunch of these and I prefer the Moto seal. Most manufacturers suggest Anaerobic sealer. It's your call but I use moto seal.
