86 marathon oil injection delete
I've seen many engine failures due to bad oil injection pumps. Is it acceptable to remove the oil injection and mix fuel?

Yes, remove the pump, plug the hole in the intake and run it 100:1 premix.

Re: 86 marathon oil injection delete
Well here is my two cents worth. I have had countless 2 cycle engines on everything from go carts to high horse power sleds and never had a failed injection pump.
I understand from the past on the forum also that the ezgo pumps will fail open. I can understand this would be a logical fail safe thought by a manufacturer also. If you properly maintain the filters and such as you do with plugs and gas systems, you should be fine to go with out mixing. I am always checking my oil levels when I ad gas to make sure I am seeing a drop. My opinion is, if I have to mix before adding, I will go with 4 cycle. Once again my thoughts but may not be same as others. |
