Aluminum front body trim
I would like to "freshen up" the aluminum front body trim at the rear of the front body panel. I'm thinking scuffing it with something fine like 200 then 400 grit emery paper, but I'm concerned that it might be anodized and sanding it might cause problems down the road. Comments?

Re: Aluminum front body trim
Thanks, I have been closely following the cleaning aluminum thread but I'm asking about sanding aluminum. More aggressive than cleaning.

Re: Aluminum front body trim
I polished mine with a cheap drill kit I got at Harbor Freight. I sanded out some dings first, and then it polished up well. It looks almost like chrome.
That was two years ago. It's ready for a touch-up, but still looks pretty good. |
