The golf course is so fricking busy, I haven't even moved the cart into the garage yet.

Some of that stuff is already done.

I plan to have the digital camera there at all times, and use it.

So, ya think a rebuild is better than a new engine?

A full rebuild is pretty much a new engine.....

A new top end is about 90% of a new engine as it has most of the wear parts.

Plus, it is a fun project, except the flywheel and clutch parts.....

& I'm for fun!

I know it sounds like I'm procrastinating, but DW now has a washer and dryer in the garage where I am going to do the rebuild. Can't push her, you know.

We got a Bush Hog UTV to go back and forth to the boat dock, so now I am free to start the rebuild in my spare time, which I can only do with y'all's help, very much appreciated.

If I can, I'll post pictures, so it's like you're here.

I do have the service manual, so could name parts if I need to, but, before the engine failed, at speed the cart would vibrate, sounding like differential chatter. Only, that did not seem to be where it was coming from.

My buddy noticed that the thingie in this picture was not go out at fast speed and coming back in at slow speed like it does on his.

Cartboy.
I am no expert like some of the guys on here, but I am rebuilding my 88 2pg for the second time as I screwed up the first time. It is not that difficult except for pulling the flywheel.

What you have in your picture is you secondary clutch (or driven clutch as some call it). If it does not move in and out when the cart speeds up and slows down then it is likely seized like mine was. It is possible to free them up but mine took a large press and three people with pipe wrenches. A new clutch may be a better option.

Plus the sheaves are bent on that clutch too, a new one is around $250-ish.
