Default Driven Clutch

I am trying to get my driven clutch apart to see if there is any visual wear that can be reworked. I am unable to get it to press down to remove the spring clip. Any pointers? I do have an compressing device and had used my impact and it will not compress. image.jpg.

Thanks

I usually just press it down enough to remove the clip. I do this with my hands with the clutch on a work bench. its not hard to do.

also think that center section has to pivot/turn when it collapses.

Try putting a slight bit of pressure on the press and then turn the ramp as you may have a warn flat spot that will not let the ramp go down on buttons to give the needed release of snap ring.

I got the clip off but it will not come apart on it's own. The spring from what I can tell has very little pressure on it. Thanks for all your help on this

We'll got the spring and got it installed. Now the cart will only go about 5mph. Could I have put the preload the wrong direction? I would appreciate any input. Thank You

What hole did you put the spring in? What primary clutch/spring are you running?

Put the cart on jacks so rear tires are off ground. Run engine to see if both clutches are running out correctly. You may also see if your brakes are hanging up. Carb settings can also give you slow speeds if your throttle plate is not opening all the way or a broken govenor. Just trying to give some heads up. not allot of internal items in the driven clutch to screw up that would only give slow speeds.

If there is too much preload in the driven clutch, it won't be able to shift out. The primary clutch will not be able to overcome the extra preload.
